# The KosherFish Android App

With the KosherFish Android app, you get the same offline kosher-fish lookup on your Android phone or tablet. We built it to mirror the iOS app, so you can use it at the fish counter with or without a connection.

## What it does

- **Search any fish** by name and get an instant kosher answer.
- **See the status badge,** green for kosher and red for not kosher, with the reason.
- **Check the fins-and-scales** rows for the why behind the verdict.
- **Read descriptions, nicknames, and foreign-language names** on each fish.
- **View the bundled blue sketch** illustration for every fish, available offline.

## Offline behavior

Fish data and illustrations are stored in the app, so the core lookup works with no internet. As with iOS, the photo gallery is the only piece that needs a connection, because those photos load on demand. Offline, you get a short note that photos load when you are connected.

## Where to get it

Download it free from the Google Play Store. Search for KosherFish, or use the apps link on the site. Each fish includes a link back to its full page on KosherFish.co for when you are online.
