Description
Rock crabs are eaten for their claw and body meat, often steamed or boiled, and the claws of some species are sold commercially. The meat is sweet, though yields are smaller than larger crabs.
Rock crabs live on rocky and sandy bottoms in coastal waters of the Atlantic and Pacific. They shelter among rocks and in tide pools and are caught in traps along temperate shores.
