Blobfish

Psychrolutes marcidus, the smooth-head blobfish, or simply the blobfish, is a deep-sea fish of the family Psychrolutidae. It inhabits the deep waters off the coasts of mainland Australia and Tasmania, as well as the waters of New Zealand.

The blobfish lives in deep waters off mainland Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand, at depths between 600 and 1,200 m. Its body is mostly a gelatinous mass slightly less dense than water, with little muscle and no gas-filled swim bladder, which lets it float just above the seafloor without active swimming.
