The dugong is a marine mammal. It is one of four living species of the order Sirenia, which also includes three species of manatees.
The dugong is a marine mammal that grazes on seagrass in warm, shallow coastal waters of the Indian and western Pacific oceans, from East Africa to Australia. It's the only fully marine mammal that eats plants.
