Description
Hardhead catfish are edible but, like all catfish, take some effort to clean. They have a fishy taste, and most anglers consider them an undesirable catch.
The hardhead catfish lives in near-shore waters of the western Atlantic around the southeastern United States, the Florida Keys, and the Gulf of Mexico coast. It also moves into brackish estuaries and river mouths over sandy or muddy bottoms.
Also known as
- Hardhead sea catfish
