Roach is eaten in parts of Europe, usually pan-fried, though it's bony and is caught more for sport and as bait than for the table.

The common roach, Rutilus rutilus, is a freshwater and brackish-water fish of Europe and western Asia. It's very adaptable, living in everything from small ponds to large rivers and lakes.
