Description
Spotted seatrout has tender, mild white flesh that's best fresh, usually filleted and pan-fried, broiled, or baked. It's one of the most popular inshore catches in the southern U.S.
The spotted seatrout, Cynoscion nebulosus, is a member of the drum family, not a true trout. It lives in estuaries and coastal waters along the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic from Maryland to Florida, with the biggest numbers in Texas, Louisiana, and Florida.
