The KosherFish Android App

< 1 min read

The KosherFish Android app gives you the same offline kosher-fish lookup on your Android phone or tablet. Built to mirror the iOS app, it works at the fish counter with or without a connection.

What it does #

  • Search any fish by name and get an instant kosher answer.
  • See the status badge, green for kosher and red for not kosher, with the reason.
  • Check the fins-and-scales rows for the why behind the verdict.
  • Read descriptions, nicknames, and foreign-language names on each fish.
  • View the bundled blue sketch illustration for every fish, available offline.

Offline behavior #

Fish data and illustrations are stored in the app, so the core lookup works with no internet. As with iOS, the photo gallery is the only piece that needs a connection, because those photos load on demand. Offline, you get a short note that photos load when you are connected.

Where to get it #

Download it free from the Google Play Store. Search for KosherFish, or use the apps link on the site. Each fish includes a link back to its full page on KosherFish.co for when you are online.
